Fauquier Deputy Assaulted While Investigating Disturbance 

April 21, 2021: Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on Salem Ave in Marshall at 7:45 p.m., April 19, 2021. Evidence gathered during an investigation revealed that an assault had occurred. While deputies were apprehending the suspect, he escaped on foot. One deputy was injured in a foot pursuit, receiving only minor injuries. The suspect identified as Keith Knowles, 53, of Marshall was arrested and charged with assault and battery, assault on a law enforcement officer, obstruction, and giving false report. He was held at Fauquier County Adult Detention Center with no bond.

Shots Fired During Alleged Domestic Incident

April 21, 2021: Our sources tell us a shots fired incident occurred on Stafford Mews Court in Stafford County around 10:40 p.m., April 20, 2021. A male was reportedly attempting to get a female into a vehicle when a firearm was discharged. The male left the scene in a 2011 Silver Honda. It is unknown if the female was struck. Through the course of an investigation, the suspect was identified and apprehended early Wednesday morning April 21. Zaccery Leon Douglas Sherman, 27, was charged with a protective order violation and reckless handling of a firearm. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail until released on bond.

Warrenton Road 7-Eleven Robbed at Gunpoint Early Sunday Morning 

April 19, 2021: The Stafford County Sheriff's Office says a store employee reported a robbery at the 7-Eleven located at 25 Solomon Drive in the early morning hours of April 18, 2021. A man entered the store around 3:20 a.m. and demanded cash from the register, while displaying a firearm. The store employee complied. The man fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed cash total. The investigation is ongoing. 

Stafford Man Arrested in Fredericksburg After Fight and Shots Fired

April 18, 2021: Police say at 12:39 a.m. April 18, the emergency communications center received a call regarding a fight in the 500 block of Sophia Street. Officers arrived to the area and were able to detain several people involved in the fight. A Fredericksburg Police Sergeant later encountered a male in a parking lot nearby. The officer observed the man firing shots and gave a command for the man to drop the firearm. The Sergeant fired a single shot from his department-issued weapon. No injuries were reported during the shots fired. The male subject was taken into custody and the officer was placed on administrative leave per department policy while an internal investigation takes place. The suspect firing shots was identified as John Bromley, 25, of Stafford County. He was charged with reckless handling of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, and two counts of willfully discharging a firearm in a public place. Bromley is incarcerated without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Strange Man Allegedly High on Drugs Assaults Resident and Threatens to Burn House Down

On April 9, 2021 at 8:00 p.m., Spotsylvania County deputies responded to the 10600 block of Crestwood Drive in the Holleybrooke Subdivision for a reported assault. Deputies learned that a man walking down the street had assaulted a resident and threatened to burn the house down before walking away. Deputies located the estranged man later identified as Deshawn Terrell Wall, 25, and suspected he was under the influence of narcotics. Wall was taken into custody and charged with assault and threats to burn a person or building. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Felon Brandishes Firearm During Stafford Road Rage Incident

April 2, 2021: At approximately 11:30 a.m. this morning, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting brandishing of a weapon. While traveling southbound on Jefferson Davis Highway north of Garrisonville Road, the victim reported a passenger in a Lincoln MZK threateningly displayed a firearm. The suspect vehicle was located at the Austin Park Drive Wawa. A handgun was found inside the Lincoln and further investigation showed the weapon was displayed after a traffic altercation. Cazz Lynn, 28, of Sandy Springs, Georgia was arrested and charged with brandishing, possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He was held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Suspect in Weigh Station Shootout Identified 

March 28, 2021: Virginia State Police have released the identity of the man killed in a shootout at a weight station on Route 301 in King George County. Authorities say, 35-year-old Charles White III of Prince George, Maryland pulled his SUV to the backside of the weigh station parking lot Thursday morning when his female passenger ran from the vehicle. White chased her while shooting at her. VSP Troopers who were inspecting a vehicle, overheard the shots fired and pursued the gunman on foot before a shootout began between officers and the suspect. The gun wielding man was killed in the exchange of gunfire. A man waiting for his truck to be inspected, was shot but is expected to alright. The female who was being chased, sustained a gunshot wound, she is also expected to survive.

Man Shot After Assaulting Grandmother With Hand Tool and Stealing Her Car

March 27, 2021: Sheriff Tony Lippa of Caroline County, says a Ruther Glen man was arrested Thursday night March 25th, following an incident that led to him being shot by a relative. According to authorities, Jeremiah Johnson, age 29, had been visiting with his grandmother on Meadow Lane in the Campbell Creek subdivision earlier Thursday when he struck her in the head with a pair of pliers. After the assault, he then took her car. Johnson returned back to the home around 10:00 p.m and was confronted by a relative who was allegedly protecting the grandmother, Johnson was then shot in the leg. Deputies and EMS personnel arrived to scene shortly after the incident. Jeremiah Johnson was arrested and charged with malicious assault, assault and battery, auto theft, and driving on a revoked license. He was held at Pamunkey Regional Jail on Friday after treatment of his injuries at a local hospital. The man who reportedly shot Johnson had not been charged at the time of this report.

Man Fires Gun in the Air During Altercation at Ice Cream Shop 

March 25, 2021: On March 24th, Stafford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious person with a firearm. At 8:39 p.m., two deputies located the described subject, who initially failed to follow deputy commands. When the suspect, Christopher Smith, 31, of Stafford complied, he was taken into custody. Smith had slurred speech and an odor of alcohol; a pistol was located in his back pocket. It was learned that Smith confronted a group of males over comments made about his girlfriend as he exited Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, 28 South Gateway Drive. During the exchange, Smith pulled a pistol out and fired a shot in the air. Smith was held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail on charges of reckless handling of a firearm, discharging a firearm in public, carrying a concealed weapon, and public intoxication.

March 23, 2021: Mathew Christian Bell was arrested in the City of Fredericksburg with charges of eluding and obstruction. He was held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail. Fredericksburg Police Investigating Shots Fired During Argument on Caroline Street

March 22, 2021: The Fredericksburg Police Department reports a shots fired incident occurred at 12:42 a.m Saturday morning (March 20) in the 900 block of Caroline Street. Police say a witness reported a male and female arguing when the man pulled out a gun and began firing shots into the air. The man then got into a dark-colored SUV and left the scene. The vehicle had an Alabama license plate but no other descriptors were provided. Law enforcement officers arrived to the scene and located multiple shell casings in the street. No vehicles, buildings, or people were struck. The investigation is ongoing.   

Two People Stabbed in Stafford Saturday Night

March 21, 2021: Stafford County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to the McDonald's restaurant located at 190 Garrisonville Road around 9:09 p.m Saturday night for a reported stabbing. A 19 year-old male was transported to the hospital with multiple stab wounds. An 18 year-old male victim was located at Stafford Hospital after driving himself there, also with multiple stab wounds. During the investigation, detectives learned that the victims were parked in a vehicle on Staffordboro Boulevard near Crater Lane when two unknown assailants approached and began stabbing them. Both victims suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries. The sheriff's office says the attack was not random but a targeted attack. March 18, 2021: Allen Purcell Lewis, 52, was arrested in Stafford County with charges of providing a false identity, driving without a license, identity theft, and fugitive with an arrest warrant. He was held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail, pending extradition.

March 17, 2021: Chantraylle Johnson, age 29, was arrested in Spotsylvania County with a charge of malicious wounding. She is held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Suspect Arrested for Multiple Charges of Child Pornography 

March 17, 2021: Michael Ryan Byers, 24, was arrested in Stafford County with charges of possession of child pornography, producing/selling child pornography, and possession of obscene material involving a minor. Byers was the subject of a criminal investigation since June 2020, he has since been apprehended and is incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Fredericksburg Police Arrest Suspect For Rape of Child

March 17, 2021: On January 14th, a mother reported to the Fredericksburg Police Department that she suspected her 12-year-old daughter was in a sexual relationship with an adult male. Fredericksburg P.D. Detective A. Tittle investigated, finding that Roger Brownell, 23, of Woodbridge had met the child on a social media platform and twice snuck into the juvenile’s home at night and had sexual relations with her. Det. Tittle obtained warrants, which were served on Brownell on March 9th. The suspect is held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a charge of Rape and Contributing to the Deliquency of a Minor. He is held on no bond.

Wanted Man Evading Capture After Failing to Report For Sentencing

March 12, 2021: The Greene County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in locating Brandon William Fitzner and has obtained a warrant for his arrest. Fitzner is a white male, 6’2, weighs approximately 145 lbs, and may be in the company of an adult female. Fitzner is reportedly operating a mint green Honda Civic 2-door with aftermarket rims. Fitzner's last known address was 1532 Simmons Gap Road in Albemarle County. Brandon Fitzner may have a capias for shoplifting and unpaid court costs in other jurisdictions, additionally Fitzner is wanted for failure to turn himself in for sentencing and he is wanted in connection to an active case involving larcenies of vehicle parts in the Ruckersville area. Man Arrested on Multiple Charges For Midnight Chase That Damaged State Police Car

March 10, 2021: One man was taken into custody after leading officers on a chase that reportedly started on the interstate in the City of Fredericksburg around 11:55 p.m Tuesday night. During the chase, a Virginia State Police car was heavily damaged but sources say the Trooper received only minor injuries from the crash. The pursuit eventually came to an end in Stafford County when officers boxed in the suspect's vehicle near the Warrenton Road exit on Interstate 95. Sean Demetreus Mellerson was charged with hit and run, eluding, assault on law enforcement, reckless driving, and obstruction. He is being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail. 

Poor Sartorial Choice the First of Many Poor Decisions: Walmart Thief Fails to Elude Police Dressed in Neon Yellow

March 6, 2021: A Woodbridge man is accused of stealing a computer from Walmart at 217 Garrisonville Road. According to the Stafford Sheriff’s Office, Jayshawn Hagler, 30, dropped the stolen computer as he ran from Dep. J.A. Hinson yesterday afternoon. Dressed in a brightly colored sweat suit, Hagler led deputies on a foot chase through various parking lots and even through a carwash, where he unsuccessfully tried to enter a locked vehicle. Whatever tactical edge his running suit provided was negated by its high visibility and deputies were able to apprehend Hagler near American Automotive at 230 Garrisonville Road. Hagler was found to be wanted in Prince William County for robbery, use of a firearm in a felony and failing to appear in court. An additional charge of grand larceny was added for the computer theft. He is booked in the Rappahannock Regional Jail on no bond and is now sporting bright orange attire.

March 6, 2021: Ivan Ayala was arrested in Stafford County on March 6, 2021. His charges include reckless driving, DWI in the 1st offense, and driving without a valid license. He was held on a $2,000 bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

March 6, 2021: William Rohland Prince was arrested in the City of Fredericksburg for possession and manufacturing of illegal drugs from January 2021. He was held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Driver Indicted for Involuntary Manslaughter After Brother Dies in Crash 

March 4, 2021: Stafford Sheriff’s office reports that on March 1st, Cian O’Driscoll, of Stafford, was indicted and a day later arrested on involuntary manslaughter and reckless driving by speed charges. He was released on an unsecured bond. The charges stem from a vehicle accident that killed 24 year old Cian O’Driscoll’s brother, Sean O’Driscoll. The single vehicle accident occurred on February 8th in the 800 block of Mountain View Road. The vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and hit a fence. Sean O’Driscoll, 26, died from his injuries. Investigation determined speed was a primary factor in the crash. Wanted Man Shot in the Neck at England Run Apartment Complex; Suspect at Large

March 4, 2021: An early morning shooting rattled residents in the England Run Apartment complex in south Stafford. According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting, which occurred in the area of Heron Drive, involved multiple shots fired from at least two firearms. One gun was recovered at the scene and multiple vehicles were damaged by gunfire. A male victim, age 21, was shot in the neck and shoulder. He then drove to the Commerce Parkway 7-11 where he was transported by ambulance to the hospital.The victim had several active warrants in Stafford and Fredericksburg for failing to appear in court. He is currently out on bond and is expected to recover from his injuries. Driver of commercial vehicle arrested for DWI

March 2, 2021:  Amilicar Orozco Lopez was arrested in Spotsylvania County on March 2, for driving a commercial vehicle while intoxicated and reckless driving. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,000 bond.

Safe stolen from towing company

March 3, 2021: A safe was stolen after a towing business was burglarized late Monday night March 1 or early Tuesday morning March 2, according to Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Employees at Thomas Recovery (96 Truslow Road) reported the business was broken into sometime overnight and a safe was stolen. The suspect(s) are believed to have forced entry through the front door. The investigation is ongoing.

Stafford Deputies Respond to Shooting at Automotive Parts Store

Feb 26, 2021: The Stafford County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that took place at the AutoZone store, 640 Warrenton Road around 5:31 p.m Friday Evening. Authorities say a male was shot and was subsequently transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A later update from the sheriff's office confirms a suspect is in custody. More information will be posted as it becomes available. 

Hit and Run Suspect Charged With DUI and Child Endangerment

Around 6:15 p.m Friday February 19, Stafford County deputies responded to a reported hit and run incident in the area of Courthouse Road and Andrew Chapel Road. Deputy Connelly located the vehicle and attempted to stop it but the driver continued traveling. An additional deputy (Curtis) responded to assist, the vehicle came to a stop after traveling about a mile with the two deputies in tow; lights and siren activated. Upon identifying the driver as Melissa Drobak, 39, of Spotsylvania, the deputies observed an open container, slurred speech, and glassy eyes, with an obvious odor of alcohol. The female stated to the deputies that she had not struck another vehicle and insisted on arguing the validity of the traffic stop. In addition to the open container, a child was discovered in the back seat. Drobak was charged with hit and run, eluding, obstruction, DUI, drinking while driving, and felony child endangerment. She was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail. The investigation revealed Drobak had rear ended a truck, causing damage to the bumper of the truck and damage to her front bumper. There were no injuries in the crash and the child was turned over to a family member.

Feb 18, 2021: Ze Yong Zhu, 49, was arrested in Stafford County on February 18, 2021. He was charged with unlawful distribution of tax paid cigarettes. Mr. Zhu was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on $5,000 bond.

Dana Katherine Davis, 37, was arrested in the City of Fredericksburg on February 18, 2021. She was charged with DWI 1st offense and driving without a license. Dana Davis was placed in Rappahannock Regional Jail on $3,000 bond.

Trent Tramaine Robinson, 31, was arrested in Stafford County on Feb 18, 2021. Robinson is charged with a malicious bodily injury that occurred on January 2, 2021. He was placed in Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Suspicious Men Pose as Utility Workers to Enter and Rifle Through Home 

Feb 20, 2021: Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is alerting citizens to suspicious activity that occurred today. At an address in Grafton Village subdivision, two white males posed as Dominion Electric workers. The suspects persuaded a resident to allow them inside, where they went from room to room and looked through dresser drawers. The two men drove up in a gray pickup truck. Drive-by Shooting In Downtown Fredericksburg Under Investigation, Police Say

Fredericksburg City Police are investigating an alleged drive-by shooting that occurred in the 300 block of Pitt Street in the downtown area around 4:00 p.m Monday afternoon (Feb 15). A champagne-colored vehicle fired multiple shots from the passenger side, according to witness' reports. Officers responded to the scene and located multiple shell casings. No injuries were reported. The incident is under investigation.

Dawn Marie Gwynn, 57, was arrested in King George County on 2/17/2021. Her charges include DWI 1st offense and possession of a controlled substance. She was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on $5,000 bond.

WANTED

James Jackson, 49, of Stafford County is wanted on threats of death or bodily injury stemming from a text message dispute that occurred on January 19 and a capias for unpaid child support totaling $150,000. Shayne Dandridge, 23, was arrested in Stafford County on Feb 15, 2021. Charges include possession of marijuana w/ intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by felon, possession of ammo by felon, and possession of a firearm while possessing an illegal substance. Shayne Dandridge is incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Domestic Incident Yields Drug Charge

Feb 14, 2021: Benjamin George Dailey was arrested in Spotsylvania County after deputies were called for a domestic incident. During a search of Mr. Dailey, deputies also discovered illegal substances. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and assault. Dailey is being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Larceny of Equipment

Feb 11, 2021: The Stafford County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported larceny of equipment on Panners Lane in the Hartwood area on Feb 11, 2021. The victim stated he left dredging equipment along the Rappahannock River on January 11 and returned to the site on February 11 to find the equipment had been stolen. The Sheriff's Office is investigating. 

Additional Pair Charged In Spotsylvania Homicide Case

Feb 11, 2021: Spotsylvania Sheriff's office announced Thursday Feb 11 that two more people have been arrested and charged in connection with an active homicide case where 20 year-old Dylan Whetzel's body was found in a wooded area. In a press release Thursday afternoon, Domonic Samuels (left) and Bronwyn C. Meeks, 21 (right) were named as new suspects and charged with concealment, conspiracy, and defilement of a dead body. Both are being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Major Troy Skebo of the Spotsylvan Sheriff's Office says the complex investigation is ongoing and charges may be upgraded pending further investigation.

Peeping Man Arrested For Hiding Cameras In Woman's Bathroom

Feb 9, 2021: A man who had access to a woman's apartment for deliveries has been arrested for allegedly installing cameras in the bathroom. The daughter of the woman, discovered the unknown electronic device on January 31st, the father located another similar device and reported the incident to police. After an investigation, Jamshaid Chaudhry of Spotsylvania was identified as the only other key holder that had access to the residence. Chaudhry, 27, was arrested and charged with peeping into an occupied dwelling, two charges of interfering with property rights of another, and attempt to commit a misdemeanor.
